The temperature pattern in LA and Southern California the last month has been in the high 90’s. This had made living in these extreme temperatures day-to-day a highly unbearable. This a  reminder  that the weather pattern is forever changing and the new normal of extreme weather is something that we will be faced with for a long time to come.

The aqua fitness program consist of a total body workout that includes shallow and deep water exercises. It consists of rebounding  movements that forces the body to make contact with the pools floor helping to strengthen muscles and improves bone density. The exercises in this category are highly energetic and  responsible for improving stamina and agility.

 

The suspended exercises are performed mostly in the deep and effective in strengthening the body’s core and  stabilizing muscles. Floating exercises also creates key at increase the drag and pull segments of the exercise which contributes to improved muscle  performance.

 

When incorporating a aqua fitness program, ensure that the temperature of the pool is in the comfortable range of high 70’s and low 80’s. Also, stock  your pool with all of the necessary equipment needed for a complete upper and lower body workout. The aqua fitness program by Eric Cooper Fitness requires a set of aqua dumbbells and kick boards. If you need traction for running in the pool, a pair of aqua shoes are highly recommended. For those who need assistance floating, an aqua belt is a useful piece of gear that is effective in maintaining buoyancy.

 

Generally the aqua program can last between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the number of rotations that are completed. It is recommended that you attempt to complete 2 full rotations for the best results. The average time spent on 2 rotations is about 20-30 minutes. If you are fatigued or lack the ability to complete the program, it is important that you stop immediately.
